This photo represents biodiversity because, an animal died so she could have a jacket. Biodiversity is the variety of organisms that exist in an area. Humans threaten biodiversity by habitat alteration, demand for wildlife products, and biological magnification. We kill animals for their fur, feathers, horns, and meat. The more we kill them the more likely they are to become extinct. If a species becomes extinct then the biodiversity lowers.

This article is all about the ozone layer. Where it is, how it effects us, how we affect it, and how we can help the ozone layer.

Unit summary
In this unit we learned about food chains and food webs, primary and secondary succession, and climate. First we learned about food chains and food webs. A food chain shows the system in which organisms depend on the next as a food source. A food web is many interlocking food chains. We can use food chains and food webs to find an animals trophic level. Next we learned about primary and secondary succession. Primary is when an uninhabited grows an ecosystem, like an island from a volcano. Secondary succession grows after a natural disaster, like a forest. Lichen and moss are usally the pioneer species on the new land. A pioneer species is the first species to inhabit a piece of new land.
Lastly we learned about renewable and nonrenewable resources. Renewable resources can regenarate if alive or can be replenished by bio chemical cycles. Nonrenewable resources cannot be replenished by a natural resource, With all the humans on earth, renewable resources can run out. Sustainable development is a way of using natural resources without depleting them. Land resources, forest resources, fishery resources, air resources, and fresh water resources are all things we need to learn to sustain.
I liked learning about the food chains and webs because I found that if the food web falls apart the whloe ecosystem falls apart. I also learned what different animals eat and the energy that moves through the food web. I want to learn more about the biosphere. I think the geosphere is very cool, all the rocks and everything below earths surface. I like learning about rocks and minerals and collecting them.

Ecology is the study of relations and interactions between organisms and their environment.
